When starting out, remain inside no longer than 30 minutes at a time. Those in good health may extend this to 50 minutes, in time.
10 minutes prior to wanting to go into your Healthwave Sauna turn it on. Close the top and bottom vents so the unit reaches its temperature more efficiently.
Set the temperature between 41 and 45 °C, depending on your tolerance to temperature
Drink 2 large glasses of mineralised water before entering the sauna. Add juice or minerals to your water if it is mineral free.
Half fill the Aromatherapy Infuser with energy water (or natural water) and add 2 or 4 drops of the essential oil you most desire to benefit from. See your local Aromatherapy or Essential Oil stockist for more information on 'which oils do what'. Hook the aromatherapy infuser onto the front grill of the Heating Element
Put in a CD, or tune into the radio station of your choice. If you have a Healthwave Sauna with a fully integrated TV/DVD just before you go in either select the program you want to watch, or put in the DVD of your choice.
Set the Timer to 30 minutes just as you are about to enter. Lay a towel over the seat for ongoing comfort and to protect the wood from sweat.
Set the Colour Therapy lights to flood the room in the colour of your choice. Green and Blue on together are wonderful if you sauna at night and want relaxation. Red and Yellow are the energising colours if you sauna in the mornings. Marry up the colours with the appropriate aromatherapy essential oil(s) to maximise the benefits on your entire being. If you just want to read then turn all the lights on at once.
Take in a small towel to wipe off the sweat while you sit. For increased air flow open the top and bottom air vents. You can take in a glass of water to drink while you are in the sauna; just pop it on the shelf.
This is your time; the focus is all on you. Sit and enjoy the 4 therapies working on your mind, body and soul.
Five minutes before the time elapses on your Timer the Healthwave Sauna will 'beep' for 60 seconds, to notify you that your sauna session is about to end.
When time is up the Healthwave Sauna will automatically turn off. Everything will turn off except the light, so if you have fallen asleep you won't over do your sauna session and you will still be able to see. This is a safety measure built into every Healthwave Sauna unit
After the sauna session drink 2 large glasses of mineralised water, to ensure you replace the minerals you have lost through your sweat.
Sit or lie down for at least 10 minutes.
When finished, take a warm or cool shower - but not hot. Wash off the sweat with a skin brush or loofah. The brushing enhances the cleansing effect.
Avoid using solid soap if possible as you will already be clean. Soap leaves a film and clogs the pores. Only use shampoo and conditioner if needed.
Some days you will sweat more than others. How long you remain in the sauna depends on your condition. Those who are ill should begin slowly.
These simple steps allow your body to reap the full benefits of the Healthwave Sauna experience. As you become healthier you will sweat more easily. It will also take you longer to heat up in the sauna. The body dissipates heat more efficiently and fewer cellular toxins are there to be removed.
